Mouse Tester — Test Double Click, Buttons & Scroll Online Free

Free online mouse tester. Test all mouse buttons (left, right, middle, back, forward) with real-time visual feedback. Check for double-click issues from worn microswitches — the #1 cause of mouse failure. Measure clicks per second with the CPS test, test scroll wheel precision, track cursor position, and view detailed click event logs. Works with wired, wireless, gaming mice and laptop trackpads. No download needed — runs 100% in your browser with zero data upload.

Features

  • Real-time mouse button testing — left, right, middle, back, and forward buttons light up on the mouse diagram when clicked, with individual click counters for each button
  • CPS (Clicks Per Second) test — timed modes from 5 to 30 seconds with live CPS display, peak CPS tracking across all tests, and real-time remaining countdown in the test zone
  • Double-click detection — adjustable threshold from 30ms to 200ms helps identify worn microswitches that register unintended double clicks from a single press
  • Scroll wheel precision test — tracks scroll up, down, left, and right distance with color-coded direction indicators for both notched wheels and free-spinning scroll wheels
  • Cursor position tracking — real-time X and Y coordinates displayed below the mouse diagram for precise movement tracking
  • Click hold duration measurement — records exactly how long each mouse button is held down, shown in milliseconds in the detailed event log
  • Mouse movement trail visualization — draws a fading trail path and click markers on the test zone canvas, with color-coded drag segment lines for different buttons
  • Complete event history log — timestamped entries for every mouse down and up event, with button labels, hold duration, double-click flags, and scroll direction information
  • Works with all pointing devices — wired and wireless mice, gaming mice with extra buttons, laptop trackpads, and Bluetooth mice. Private and secure — all data stays in your browser

How to Use

  1. 1Enter the test zone: once the mouse tester loads, the interactive area is ready. Click any mouse button or move your mouse over the diagram to begin. The large mouse diagram provides real-time visual feedback — pressed buttons light up with distinct colors for each button type.
  2. 2Test individual mouse buttons: click the left, right, middle (press the scroll wheel), back, and forward buttons on your mouse. Each click increments the corresponding counter card above the test zone. The mouse diagram highlights the pressed area, making it easy to confirm every button registers correctly.
  3. 3Run a CPS click speed test: select a time duration from the CPS toolbar section — 5 seconds for quick benchmarks, up to 30 seconds for endurance testing. Click the Start button, then a 3-2-1 countdown appears in the test zone. When the countdown ends, click the left button as rapidly as possible. Watch your live clicks-per-second update in real time. When the timer expires, your final CPS score is displayed.
  4. 4Detect double-click issues from worn switches: rapidly click the left button several times while watching the event log. If entries appear with a red 'Double Click' tag, your mouse microswitch may be registering two signals from a single press. Adjust the DC Threshold slider to fine-tune detection sensitivity — lower values (30ms) catch faster bounce artifacts, higher values (200ms) detect slower unintended double clicks.
  5. 5Check scroll wheel accuracy: scroll up and down with your mouse wheel. The scroll card on the left and the direction indicators on the scroll wheel area of the diagram will respond. Blue highlights indicate upward scrolling, amber indicates downward. The counter tallies total scroll distance for each direction, useful for diagnosing dirty or failing scroll encoders.
  6. 6Review click history and hold duration: the event log at the bottom records every mouse action with a precise timestamp. Each entry shows which button was pressed, whether it was a down or up event, how long it was held, and if it was flagged as a double click. Use the Clear button to reset the log or the overall Reset button to clear all counters and test data.
